Resinous Flooring Finishes and Services

Resinous flooring is both highly decorative and durable. It’s made by pouring a mixture of resin and hardener onto an existing concrete floor and then allowing it to cure. This process results in a heavy-duty non-porous, chemical resistant surface that can handle the high traffic of buildings such as warehouses and dealerships or specialty applications like laboratories, kitchens, and parking structures. The final surfaces are durable, sanitary, and low-maintenance.

Here are a few steps our floor restoration experts recommend:

Selecting a floor

It’s important to work with a floor restoration team to determine what kind of floor meets your budget and the intended use. Create a list of features like surface texture, gloss level, chemical exposure, floors exposed to sunlight, function during service, and durability-life expectancy are all covered when discussing floor samples. Color and costs are a final consideration.

Mock-Up

Upon selecting the right resinous flooring system, and a physical sample is approved, it’s highly recommended to have a mock-up installed. This will allow the building owner, architect, and builder to approve the floor be the installation process.

Installer Experience

Make sure you are working with a floor restoration expert and not your everyday garage floor installer. Heavy-duty, commercial resinous flooring dries quickly, and the more complex a system, the more labor will be required to maintain the floor’s quality. Improper installation of a resinous floor is noticeable weeks and months after the floor starts service.

Final Review

Walk the resinous floor with your floor restoration expert after the installation process. Discuss any concerns, owner comments, and any surface irregularities.

Protect the Floor

Restrict traffic until the floor fully dries and install temporary floor protection.

High Chemical Resistance

Highly chemical resistant floors are excellent in preventing chemicals like solvents or acids from absorbing into concrete floors in industrial facilities. Implementing the right chemical resistant floor coating can significantly increase the life of your floor, saving you money in cleaning and replacement costs over time.

Quartz Floors

Quartz floors have a textured finish that can withstand higher impact than standard epoxy coatings. For floors that require slip-resistance, the added texture of quartz is a great option. To install quartz flooring, quartz granules in your choice of color and texture are sprayed onto the surface of the floor when the epoxy is still wet, giving it a naturally skid-resistant surface. Once it dries, a clear epoxy is applied on top to seal the quartz floor.
